A RETIRED professor has had a building and a garden named after him at Brunel University.
Professor John Crank, of Letchworth GC, was a professor in mathematics at the university for 24 years.
Prof Crank, 91, began working at the institute as a mathematician in 1957.
He was head of his department at Brunel College before it merged with the university and he also served two terms as vice principal.
He was best known for his work alongside Phyllis Nicolson on the heat equation and he retired in 1981.
