POLICE are investigating a spate of house burglaries in Biggleswade.
At the end of last year burglaries in the town were running at only two or three a month. This has now risen since Christmas to four or five a week.
Initial investigations point to many of the incidents possibly being committed by the same person as the means of entry into properties have been the same.
A serious incident occured last week on the Fairfield estate when a man forced his way into a pensioner's home after pushing past her on the doorstep. The woman was unhurt, say police, but very shaken by the incident.
In nearly all the incidents cash has been stolen.
