Biggleswade Town groundsman Jim Woodward paid a visit to the FA’s prestigious centre of excellence at Burton to collect an award for the quality of the playing surface at the club.
The honour is the result of referees and their opposition marking the pitch out of 100 points. Jim’s careful curation saw him receive the runner’s up trophy for the Southern League. A club spokesman said: “The surface is a joy to play on. The majority of visiting teams are amazed at the quality of the pitch. It’s no surprise Jim got this award.”
