Two Stevenage postcodes are currently being affected by a power cut.

Electricity is out in the SG1-1 and SG1-3 areas of Stevenage, affecting houses and offices in the town – including the Comet offices in Stevenage Old Town.

According to UK Power Networks, an underground electricity cable faulted on its high voltage network – causing an area-wide power cut.

UK Power Networks say power is expected to be back on between 11.30am and 12.30pm today.

We have also received reports that the outage has affected the town centre and the railway station, with the fire service called to attend people stuck in the lift.
