VISITORS to a town centre are now greeted by a series of giant pot plants which were installed to improve the aesthetic appeal after a long-standing outdoor market was closed down.
The plants, situated near the bus station in Stevenage town centre, were bought using money from a 100,000 High Street Innovation Fund grant given to the town by retail expert Mary Portas.
It follows Stevenage Borough Council’s decision to evict Stevenage outdoor market stallholders from the area in November, 23 years after trading began.
