It is the time of year again when criminals start to target garden equipment, but Sara Coombes, a PCSO at Hitchin has recently obtained a new tool in the fight against this type of crime. A sum of money was made available by the council for schemes created by PCSO's, and Sara's was one of the examples which impressed the panel enough to obtain funding. Some Pirton residents have already had garden furniture permanently marked and the local PCSO team is available to postmark any resident's garden property, such as lawn mowers, garden tables, etc. Stickers will be provided for display to inform that property is postmarked. It is hoped that this type of property marking will act as a deterrent to would-be thieves. If you have property that you would like to have security marked, contact 425080, or 0779 5825965
