Police are advising residents how to stay safe as the nights draw in.
Officers in Hitchin are holding 'Be Safe' events in Market Place on Saturday and Monday to give advice on personal safety, Halloween and bogus callers. They will also be sending out safety messages to passers via Bluetooth.
Inspector Simon Tabert said: "North Herts is a very safe part of the country to live and we want to keep it that way. With the darker nights drawing in this is a good time to reinforce preventative messages around personal safety to ensure people stay even safer in the area."
The mobile police station will be open between 6.30pm and 10pm on Saturday and from 2pm to 6pm Monday.
