POLICE are warning motorists to avoid the Coreys Mill area of Stevenage for the next few hours and find alternative routes after they closed the slip road at junction 8 northbound of the A1 (M) after a multi-vehicle accident just after 9am.
Two cars and a lorry collided on the A1 (M) just after junction 8 blocking at least one lane of the motorway. Two people were taken to Lister Hospital.w
Traffic is also slow on the A1 (M) northbound as emergency services attempt to clear the wreckage of the vehicles. Traffic is also slow on the dual carriageway back to Hitchin and on the Corey's Mill roundabout causing severe congestion and long tailbacks of traffic on the A1 (M) in both directions.
