Police trying to trace man seen walking along railway tracks at Stevenage

Police are looking for a man who was spotted walking along the railway line at Stevenage railway station in the early hours of this morning.

Herts Police were contacted by British Transport Police at 1.23am this morning after reports a person was on the train tracks at Stevenage.

The man who is believed to be in his 50s, had walked off the platform and along the line towards Hitchin.

Officers attended to search for the man with the assistance of Network Rail Staff. A police helicopter also searched overhead.

The search to trace him is ongoing.
