POLICE are treating a fire that badly damaged a factory as arson.

Fire swept through the Swift Force factory on the Ascot Industrial Estate in Icknield Way, Letchworth GC on Saturday night.

Firefighters from Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth and Baldock and Welwyn tackled the blaze in the shop fitting factory in Unit 11 for over two hours.

Police say the fire was started after a van that was stolen in a burglary earlier in the evening in Letchworth GC, was torched in the front of the building.
