POLICE are hunting two men after a robbery in which a man was left unconscious behind a Biggleswade pub on Thursday night.

The victim, a 40-year-old Asian, had missed his stop on the train at Welwyn Garden City and got off at Biggleswade.

While waiting for a train to take him back to Welwyn Garden City he went for a drink at the White Hart in Market Square where he struck up a conversation with two men and bought a round of drinks.

At around 7.30pm all three men left and walked down the side of the pub.

Half an hour later the victim was seen staggering and bleeding from his head outside the Ask restaurant and asking for help.

He was rushed to Lister Hospital, Stevenage, and treated for a fractured eye socket and broken nose.

He went home on Monday.

Police say the victim had his wallet containing £740 and numerous credit cards stolen during the attack.

The men seen leaving the pub with the victim are both white, one in his 40s and the other in his early 30s, and spoke with local accents.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the pub last Thursday night to contact Dc Rob Nichol on 01234 275147.
