POLICE are hunting a man who wears a balaclava and yellow rubber gloves when he carries out robberies.

He has robbed three shops in Hertfordshire including One Stop in Broadwater Crescent, Stevenage.

The offender walked into the store on Sunday, August 6, at 9.30pm when he threatened staff with a knife before demanding money and cigarettes.

He then took the contents of the till and six packets of cigarettes before leaving and making off in a silver Vauxhall Cavalier.

The second incident took place in Bishop's Stotford and the third took place in Much Hadham. In those incidents he also took cash and cigarettes.

He is described as white, in his early twenties, around 5ft 10in of medium build. He wears a dark hooded top, jogging bottoms, a balaclava and yellow rubber gloves.

DI Damien Kennedy said: "We believe there is a connection between these three incidents. The offender is a brazen individual who has left staff involved in these incidents shaken and distressed.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who may know who this man is, or who may have been in the store or around the area at the time any of these incidents took place.

"Did you see the driver of a silver Cavalier acting suspiciously or driving off at speed from these locations? If so, or if you have any information which may assist us, please call."

Call DI Kennedy on 01992 533020.
