Police investigating five thefts have released CCTV images this week of people they wish to speak to in connection with the incidents.

The latest incident concerns a theft that took place in Superdrug in Bancroft, Hitchin, on December 18 at around 2.15pm.

A man entered the store, stole a fragrance gift set, and then left. He then returned, took another gift set and again left without paying for either item.

Two days earlier on December 16, a theft happened in New Look in Brand Street, Hitchin, at around 4pm, in which a woman entered the shop, picked up a dress and left without paying for it.

And on December 9 at 4.10pm a man filled his vehicle with diesel at the BP petrol station in Great North Road, entered the shop, purchased some items without paying for fuel and drove away.

The fourth incident concerns a man who entered the Shell petrol station in Letchworth Gate between 6.40am and 7.15am on Sunday, November 3, and stole three items.

The fifth incident took place on December 19 at Boots in High Street, Hitchin.

The theft occurred between 2.30pm and 3pm when a man and a woman were in the store and placed various items in a basket. A second man then joined them, took the items and placed them in a bag before leaving the store without paying for the goods.

Police would like to speak to the man and the woman as they may have witnessed the theft or have information that is useful to the investigation.
