Police release CCTV images after Stevenage assault

POLICE have released CCTV images of three women they believe may have vital information which could assist their investigation into the assault of two women.

The assault happened between 3.45am and 4am on Friday, May 18, when the two victims, aged 20 and 19, had ordered a taxi to take them home from the Holiday Inn in Stevenage.

When the taxi arrived they were approached by a group of girls who insisted they gave the taxi to them.

The 19-year-old victim was also racially abused before being assaulted, suffering concussion as well as swelling, bruising and scratches to her face.

When her friend intervened, she was also assaulted and suffered a broken hand and a scratch to her face.

PC Andrew Bryder, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a nasty incident which has left the victims shaken and with serious injuries. We are determined to catch those responsible and bring them to justice.

“We believe these girls [pictured in the CCTV images] may have vital information which could assist our investigation. Is this you, or do you recognise any of these women? If so, please get in touch with us immediately.”
