A bank card has been stolen in Hitchin and police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with their investigation.

The victim was approached by two people in Desborough Road at around 3pm on March 24. One of them reached into her bag and tried to take her purse, but was not successful.

The victim later found that her bank card was missing, and that it had been used to withdraw a large amount of money from her account.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who has information about the incident, should contact PC Geoff Scarborough via the non-emergency number 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
