BEDFORDSHIRE police re-opened the A600 at Rowney Warren Wood, near Shefford, at lunchtime over four hours after a two-car crash this morning that blocked the road.
The accident left both drivers in hospital with injuries. One woman driver was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridgeshire, while the male driver of the other car was taken by ambulance to Bedford Hospital South Wing.
The A600 had been blocked both ways between the B658 Bedford Road and Northwood End Road while police officers carried out an investigation into the crash and the wreckage was removed and the road cleaned.
