POLICE community support officers (PCSOs) from the Hitchin neighbourhood team are running a property marking and registering session in the town on Thursday to deter thieves and recover stolen goods.
Elaine Cuozzo, one of the PCSOs who will be manning the mobile police unit, said: "These events give residents a chance to protect their property and help prevent them becoming victims of burglary. It could make offenders think twice about targeting your home if they know your property is clearly registered to you and they could be found with it in their possession."
Police will also be telling residents about www.immobilise.com - a national property registering website where officers can check the ownership of property they have found or seized.
The event will take place in Ninesprings Way between 10am and 1.30pm.
