Police have now located a man from Stevenage who was reported missing last week – after he responded to their appeal to trace him with comments on social media.

Officers made contact with Daniel Scott, 30, in Stevenage this morning.

A police appeal issued yesterday said he had been reported missing on Thursday last week, and was last seen in Stevenage on June 9.

When the Comet posted a story about the police appeal to trace Mr Scott online, he posted comments on our Facebook site – among other things denying that he was missing.

Police said in response that he would continue to be regarded as missing until officers spoke to him face to face.

A force spokeswoman today thanked members of the public and the media for helping to spread the appeal.
