A blue Vauxhall Astra was set alight in Inskip Road at 6.55pm on Thursday, July 14, by an offender who then made off towards the town centre on foot.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hosereel to tackle the blaze.

Det Con Karen Dewar, who is investigating, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time stated or saw anyone fleeing the scene to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
