Police are still trying to establish what happened after reports that a gun was fired in Stevenage yesterday.
Officers were called shortly before 2pm following a disturbance outside an address in Colestrete.
Members of the public reported hearing a loud bang and told police that a man might be in possession of a weapon.
Others speculated that someone had been shot.
People took to Facebook to give their versions of what happened.
Police went to the scene and found a number of people at the address but no reports of any injuries. No weapon has yet been found.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police on 101.
