POLICE and forensic experts are investigating a property today (Wednesday), following reports that a gun had been fired at someone’s door in a targeted attack.
Police have dispelled rumours circulating on social media sites that someone had been injured or shot.
Instead, a spokesman said they were called just after 9am to reports a gun had been fired at the door of a property in Redhill Road, Hitchin.
It happened sometime during the previous night.
A spokesman said: “Residents should be reassured it is believed that this was a targeted attack.
“Investigations are currently ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.”
