A woman in her 40s was raped in a Baldock churchyard in the early hours of Sunday morning, and police are now investigating.

Police said the woman was raped in the graveyard at St Mary’s Church, off Hitchin Street, just after midnight.

Specialist support is being provided to the victim while officers continue enquiries to establish the circumstances around what happened.
