The white Vauxhall Corsa was travelling along Wallington Road, near Clothall Common in Baldock. The vehicle was turning round the right hand bend when it lost control, swerved onto a grassy area and crashed into a tree.

At 2.30pm police were called to the scene and one lane was closed. The Highways Agency was informed, the fire service was called and at 4.30pm the car was removed.

The driver was taken to Lister Hospital after sustaining a serious head injury. However the Baldock man recovered and was discharged on Sunday.
