Police are appealing for information from punters after a burglary yards from the Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival on Friday evening.

Thieves broke into a property on Strathmore Avenue near to the event at Hitchin Rugby Club on Old Hale Way that attracted more than 3,400 people over the course of the three-day festival.

Officers are hoping someone will aid their investigations after the burglars broke into a back garden before entering into a house via French doors and stole three bicycles.

The bikes included a Mans Felt white racing cycle, a Kona black mountain bike and boys’ Dawes Bmx, and were stolen between 11.30pm on Friday and 10.45am on Saturday.
