Police hunt park attacker
POLICE are hunting a young man after an incident in Stevenage this morning (Friday).
It took place in Giles Park at around 8.15am.
A woman in her late 30s was walking through the park towards Grace Way when she was approached by a man and was touched inappropriately.
The assailant is described as white, about 19 years old, around 5ft 8in tall with short brown hair. He was said to be wearing white ‘painters’ trousers and a grey jumper.
Insp Simon Tabert from the Stevenage neighbourhood team said: “We are looking to seek witnesses to this incident.
“We have a clear description of the man who we believe was involved and I would ask anyone who may know who he is, or saw him acting suspiciously in the area this morning, to contact us at the earliest opportunity.
“Officers from the Stevenage neighbourhood team will be in the area today carrying out patrols and to trace witnesses to this incident.
