THE police helicopter was sent up at about 9pm last night (Wednesday) after a stolen van was spotted travelling towards Hitchin. Several police cars joined the chase and the van was finally located at the BP garage on the A505 in Hitchin. The occupants -
THE police helicopter was sent up at about 9pm last night (Wednesday) after a stolen van was spotted travelling towards Hitchin.
Several police cars joined the chase and the van was finally located at the BP garage on the A505 in Hitchin.
The occupants - two men wearing dark clothing - fled the scene.
Searches from the ground and air were carried out but the men were not found.
Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call Herts Police on the non-emergency number 0845 3300 222.
