A police helicopter was deployed over Stevenage last night after reports a child was seen wandering on its own.
Police were called to St Nicholas Park at 10pm after the child, aged around five, was seen wandering by itself in the park.
The caller later reported a woman – believed to be the child’s mother – appeared and walked the child towards Great Ashby.
Officers and a police helicopter, which was in the area at the time, attended and carried out a search but nothing suspicious was found.
