SANDY Skating Association is better off to the tune of over £2,000 thanks to the Bedfordshire Police Authority.

The authority presented a cheque for £2,220.75 to the association last week as part of their youth projects fund to help projects for young people aimed at keeping them safe and out of trouble.

The money will be used to purchase skating equipment to help give coaching to four to 11-year-olds in Sandy on a one-to-one basis in basic skateboarding skills.
