Police have discovered a cannabis factory in a Hitchin flat this morning after neighbours complained of flooding.
A member of the public alerted the police to flooding in a flat at Woodcote House in Queen Street at about 11am, and on arrival officers discovered that water was seeping through from the property above.
After officers entered the flat they discovered 25 cannabis plants, but no-one inside.
Police remain on the scene while the property is made safe, but no arrests have been made.
A woman who lives nearby said: “I was walking down Portmill Lane with my friend and there were so many police cars there, we thought something must be going on.”
