Two suspected shoplifters were chased by police through Stevenage town centre yesterday and arrested after perfume was stolen from a chemist chain.
Officers were called to Queensway after reports of a theft at Boots.
A 30-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both from Hertford, were subsequently arrested.
They remain in custody at Stevenage Police Station at this time.
