POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Baldock on Sunday when a 14-year-old boy died.At around 8.20pm the boy from Baldock was cycling north on Norton Road near to the North Herts Equestrian Centre.

POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Baldock on Sunday when a 14-year-old boy died.

At around 8.20pm the boy from Baldock was cycling north on Norton Road near to the North Herts Equestrian Centre.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the collision are unclear at this time, but police believe the boy may have been attempting to turn into the equestrian centre when he collided with a Honda Civic travelling in the same direction. The boy was taken to the Lister Hospital where he later died.

The Honda was being driven by a 22-year-old man from Baldock and a 20-year-old woman also from Baldock the front passenger seat. Both were uninjured.

Investigating officer Pc Matt Hollingsworth said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who saw either the cyclist or the car prior to, or at the time of, the collision. Both the cyclist and the car came from the direction of the town centre."
