POLICE today appealed for witnesses to help them trace three men after a robbery in Townley, Letchworth GC.

The robbery happened at 10.15pm last Thursday in an alley between Radburn Way and the flats towards Upper Maylins when a 34-year-old local man was approached by the men who demanded money in an aggressive manner.

The victim handed over a small amount of cash and the offenders ran off towards Upper Maylins.

The three men, say police, are all described as of Asian appearance, between 15 and 19 years old.

The first is described as 6ft tall, slim and was wearing a hooded jumper which may have been sky blue with a pattern on the front and a dark shiny bandana.

The second was around 5ft 10ins tall, slim and wearing a dark hooded jumper and a bandana. The third was between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall and was wearing a hooded jumper.

Dc Lee Baker, who is investigating the robbery, said: "The victim was not injured during the incident but it did cause him some distress.

"We are treating it seriously and are very keen to speak to anyone who believes they witnessed the incident or noticed the three males in the area around the flats in Upper Maylins around the time of the incident."
