DETECTIVES want to speak to a mystery driver who helped the victim of an early morning attack.
Police want to interview the male driver of a silver vehicle who came to the aid of a man who received facial injuries in an assault on Nightingale Road, Hitchin at 12.30am on Good Friday.
The driver shouted from his vehicle, interrupting the attack.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested for assault and is in custody at Hatfield Police Station.
The injured man was taken to Lister Hospital for treatment and later discharged.
Detective Sergeant Jason Finnegan, investigating, said: "We are keen to trace the driver of this vehicle as they may have important information. They can contact us at Hatfield Police Station on 0845 3300 222 and quote incident number 25 of April 2.
