A ROBBERY is reported to have taken place in Broadwater Avenue, Letchworth, in the early hours of this morning (Friday).

The incident took place at 6.20am, where a woman in her thirties was approached from behind and pushed to the floor.

The offender then stole cash, an iPod and a yellow ring with a diamond set into it, and ran off towards Morrisons.

The victim is said to have scratches on her face.

Investigating officer PC Lee Preece: “The lady is understandably shaken up after this incident and we are doing everything we can to identify the man responsible.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident take place to get in contact.”

The offender was described as a man of slim build, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with a deep voice. He was reported to be wearing a red hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
