HERTFORDSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted in Knebworth on Monday.
The incident took place at 10.40pm on Station Road when, following a dispute between a man and a woman, the woman was assaulted sustaining injuries to her face.
The woman then entered the Station Hotel pub to report the incident and the man followed. He was later arrested.
The man and woman are known to each other.
A 22-year-old man from Knebworth has been arrested in connection with this incident and had been released on bail.
Investigating officer PC Barry Townsend, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact me as soon as possible.”
