Police investigating an ‘attempted abduction’ in Letchworth on Sunday have concluded the incident didn’t take place.
It was reported to the police that at around 2pm, a 10-year-old girl was approached by a man in B&M Home Store in Second Avenue, he led her out of the shop and carried her before putting her back down near Aldi.
Police launched an investigation to find the man, however a police spokeswoman has now said: "Following further investigations into the alleged abduction of a 10-year-old girl in Letchworth on Sunday, August 11, officers are now satisfied that the incident did not in fact take place. No further action is being taken at this time."
