A man was hit over the head and stabbed by two attackers in Biggleswade town centre late at night over the weekend, and police are now appealing for witnesses.

The victim was in the High Street at about 1.15am on Sunday when two attackers, described as white men aged about 20, hit him over the head and stabbed him.

Det Con Olyver Tomlinson, who is investigating, said: “This was a nasty and vicious assault and it was fortunate that the victim did not sustain serious injuries.

“It’s likely that the town centre was busy at this time with people heading home after a night out, so I’m appealing for anyone who might have witnessed this attack to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact Det Con Tomlinson on 101, quoting reference number JD/25355/2016, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
