DETECTIVES are appealing for information after two cars were broken into last week.

Two thefts occurred in Nevells Road and the joining Cross Street in Letchworth GC some time overnight between last Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

A black Peugeot, which had been parked on Nevells Road, was broken into and a set of expensive PING G15 golf clubs were stolen from the boot of the car.

The golf clubs were stolen from the boot and one of the bags was discarded by the offenders and later found in a garden in a nearby street. One of the golf clubs that was stolen was a white, tailor made driver. A Bushnell view finder was also stolen.

An MG silver convertible was also broken into on the same night on Cross Street with a Navman Sat Nav, a pink iPod nano and pink Nintendo DS and games stolen from the vehicle.

Pc Lisa Brazier from the Letchworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, who is investigating the incident, said: “I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Cross Street and Nevells Road area of Letchworth on the evening of Monday, April 30, or early hours of Tuesday, May 1, to contact police immediately. Or perhaps you have been offered these items for sale? If so, please contact us.”
