A double burglary in Letchworth has left two neighbouring houses damaged as thieves smashed patio doors to steal cash and jewellery.

Police investigating the two burglaries that happened on Willian Road are appealing for information and witnesses.

Between 10.30am and 1.10pm yesterday, thieves gained access to both properties by smashing patio doors before ransacking one of the homes for cash and jewellery. Nothing was stolen from the second house.
