A 41-year-old cyclist from Clifton remains seriously ill with head injuries in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, after his bicycle was in collision with a car on the A6 at Silsoe on Wednesday evening.

The incident happened at 5.35 when the car, a silver Audi TT and the cyclist were in collision, say Bedfordshire police.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the accident or the car and cyclist prior to the collision as they travelled towards Bedford, to contact investigating officer Pc Andy Carter at the Collision Investigation Unit on 01234 842469.
