Police appeal after Arlesey assault

A MAN has been left with a serious injury after he was assaulted last week.

The 32-year-old man was assaulted in Arlesey Recreation Ground breaking his arm in seven places.

The incident happened in the High Street public park at around 6.30pm on May 22. The victim was approached by the offender who pushed him to the floor before punching him and kicking him repeatedly.

Having caused significant injury to the victim the offender walked away.

DC Ian Johnson, investigating said the assault was totally unprovoked, he added: “We know that the victim and offender are acquaintances but the assault came out of the blue and has left this man with a very serious injury that will require on-going medical attention. I would appeal to anyone who has information about the assault or knows who and where the offender is to contact the police in confidence.”

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his early 20s, 5’10”-6’ tall and of skinny build with short dark hair. He was wearing a long sleeved top and jeans and was seen to leave the area in a calm and controlled manner.

The victim was helped home by a friend who was with him at the time, and then taken to hospital for medical treatment including on-going reconstructive surgery.
