A police 4x4 came to the rescue in Letchworth last night to tow out another police car that had got stuck in a ‘deeper than expected’ puddle.

The above picture was tweeted out by the Beds, Cambs and Herts Road Policing Unit along with the words: “Helping out one of our own in Letchworth, puddle was deeper than expected.”

A spokesman explained that an officer on routine patrol had parked up to deal with enquiries but got stuck in a deep hole, prompting them to send a BMW X5 to help.
