YOUTH action groups are calling for volunteers to help them make good use of new funding.
Groundwork Hertfordshire and Children And Young People Of Westmill have secured a 79,000 grant from Herts County Council for youth activities on the Westmill estate in Hitchin.
The funding will enable them to continue community projects, such as the weekly dance class, and holiday and after school club they currently provide for youths on the estate, but they need extra help.
Graeme Endersby, youth works manager at Groundwork Hertfordshire, said: "With the funding confirmed, we now need volunteers from the community to support and help us put it to good use. Building on the success of the previous youth activities on the estate so far, we want to make sure the work continues into the future."
To get involved, call Groundwork on 01707 260129.
