THIEVES stole hundreds of pounds worth of kit belonging to a women's football team after a match.

The Stevenage Vixens are hoping to borrow a kit before the team's big match at Hemel Hempstead on Sunday.

Skipper Kerry Locock parked her car at Walkern Sports and Social Club after a match against Barton Rovers on Sunday.

While Miss Locock and team mates were watching a match in the club's bar, thieves were busy breaking into three vehicles in the car park.

They stole kit, the team's medical bag and football boots as well as Miss Locock's passport, bank card and car stereo.

They also slashed her tyres.
