Plans to demolish the DuPont site in Stevenage and build up to 200 new homes have been approved.

The proposals – which were submitted by Frontier Estates – were approved by Stevenage Borough Council’s planning committee last night, meaning that the office block in Wedgewood Way will be turned into a housing development.

There will also be shops, parking, play areas and open spaces built on the site once the existing buildings on the Pin Green Industrial Estate are demolished.

The developers believe the homes will provide a boost for the area.

DuPont will be relocating to another site in the town.
