One of America’s biggest food and drink chains could be on its way to Letchworth after plans were submitted to build a Starbucks coffee shop in Norton Way North.
The plans – which were submitted to North Herts District Council last week – involve demolishing the single storey Seat dealership car showroom in front of the Letchworth Autoway Centre and putting a ‘drive thru’ version of the coffee outlet with 55 seats up in its place.
The applicant is Euro Garages Ltd which leases the Seat buildings – as well as the Esso service station next door – and also already operates 50 Starbucks shops across England.
Euro Garages Ltd say that the shop will create more jobs at the site as a whole and would be a ‘visual improvement’ to the area.
To have your say on the application – before the deadline expires on Thursday, March 10 – visit www.north-herts.gov.uk and search for planning applications.
