A PLANNING application to erect three wind turbines on farmland has been submitted.
If permission is granted by North Herts District Council, farmers John and Paul Cherry, of Darmalls Hall Farm, will raise the turbines on Weston Hills.
Including the length of the blades, they will reach a height of 120 metres.
The three turbines would generate 6MW of electricity - enough to supply around 3,300 homes - and reduce carbon emissions by around 15,300 tonnes per year.
As part of the application process, 12 neighbours have so far been consulted. The council's final decision is due to be made by mid-January.
