PLANS to demolish another historic building in Hitchin have been handed in to North Hertfordshire District Council's planning department.

Pine Lodge, in Highbury Road, is the latest Victorian house to come under threat and could be demolished and replaced by a three-storey building.

Although plans to redevelop another historic building in the town, Rose Cottage in Walsworth Road, have been withdrawn, protesters say they are not holding their breath that this site will be saved.
