A PIZZA delivery driver was robbed in Ickleford last week by a man who then rode off on the victim’s moped.

The incident took place between 12am and 12.30am on Saturday, March 5, when the 22-year-old victim was delivering a pizza in Greenfield Avenue.

After parking his moped, he was approached by a man who demanded his money and the keys to his vehicle.

The victim handed a small quantity of cash to the offender, who then rode off on the moped in the direction of Walnut Way.

Pc Steve Cook is investigating. He said: “The delivery driver was not injured during the incident but was clearly shaken.

“I’m appealing for any witnesses to this incident, such as local residents, to come forward.”

The offender is described as a white man in his 20s, approximately 5ft 8ins tall of slim build and wearing a woolly hat.

A 21-year-old man from Ickleford has been arrested in connection with the incident, and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
