On a recent warm and sunny evening a visit was made to the nursery of Anne Godfrey and the adjoining garden, Jenningsbury, just outside Hertford. The garden created from a three acre wild gravel meadow, part of it a moat and ponds with borders and wide mown paths, was perfect for an evening stroll. The next WI meeting on Thursday, July 13, in the Village Hall is an evening of tea tasting, contact 712493.

Methodist Church: Thanks to growers, sellers and buyers who braved a wet day for the Plant Sale. £270 was raised for the repair fund. The Chapel was opened for the village Open Gardens Day and books, plants and preserves were sold. Many people took the opportunity to go into the Chapel to look round. Around £450 was raised on this occasion, and many new friends to the Chapel were made, contact 712028.
